Sign the Antarctic Ocean Alliance petition

We are part of a global alliance that calls for protection of a number of areas around Antarctica including the Ross Sea. The  international organization that manages the waters around Antarctica, the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR)  has agreed in principal to establish a network of marine protected areas in the Southern Ocean including the Ross Sea, which is regarded as the jewel of Antarctica’s oceans.

Antarctic Ocean Alliance (AOA) is currently running a petition to call on CCAMLR to establish a large-scale network of marine protected areas and no-take marine reserves to protect Antarctic’s key ocean habitats, including the Ross Sea –  and to let the delegates from  25 countries know that the world is watching.

AOA currently have over 200,000 signatures and are trying to reach 300,000.
